R. Anthony “Tony” Brigantino, MAI
R. Anthony “Tony” Brigantino was born and raised on a family farm in Hollister, CA and is a graduate of Palma High School, Salinas. In 1983, he graduated from California State University, Fresno, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Business.
He accepted his first position as a Loan Officer/Appraiser with the Federal Land Bank of Sacramento (FLBA) in 1983. Tony’s position with the FLBA exposed him to a variety of agricultural property types and regions throughout California. The FLBA experience allowed him the opportunity to perform agricultural appraisal and lending assignments in the northern Sacramento Valley, Central and Southern San Joaquin Valley, and finally the Salinas Valley where he has remained since 1984.
Tony developed a passion for the appraisal side of FLBA work, and in 1986 transitioned to appraising full time as an apprentice appraiser under the mentorship of John W. Piini, MAI. He earned his MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute in 1993 and his California Real Estate Broker license in 1992.
Tony and his amazing wife/partner Christina formed Brigantino & Company, Real Estate Appraisers, Brokers and Consultants in 1995. "We specialize in the appraisal of complex agricultural, commercial and industrial properties in Monterey, San Benito, Santa Cruz and southern Santa Clara Counties."
Tony has a passion for challenging appraisal assignments including expert witness in litigation, eminent domain, and partition actions, and has been certified by the Appraisal Institute in the appraisal of Conservation Easements. His beginnings in the lending industry provide him with a thorough knowledge of the special real estate appraisal issues facing lenders and borrowers. He also works hand in hand with many public agencies in appraisal support involving special use properties and unusual assignments.
Tony has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and skills since his real estate career began in 1983. He is a determined and competent appraiser, consultant, and broker of real estate. His extensive real estate experience has been the foundation for his own personal success in real estate investing, and representing many satisfied buyers and sellers as a real estate broker.
Other interests include golf, hiking, camping, hunting, fishing and tractoring.
